Roethlisberger in Motorcycle Accident
posted @ 1:02 pm in [ News -

I just read on EPSN.com that Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger wrecked his motocycle in downtown Pittsburgh. He is in serious but stable condition. It is reported that he was not wearing a helmet.
As much as I hate the Steelers, I hope Roethlisberger is alright. But this again brings up the issue of pro athletes and motorcycles, especially when they ride without helmets.
I’m sorry, but anyone who rides a motocycle on busy roads or highways without a helmet is being an idiot. Big Ben and the Steelers are lucky this isn’t more serious than it seems. I’m sure Steeler officials will be laying out some serious ground rules regarding the use of motorcycles and helmets.

NBA Finals
posted @ 11:59 am in [ Sports ]
It sucks that one of the best NBA playoffs in years has to result in one boring NBA finals, at least for me. This is the first time ever that I really don’t care who wins the finals. I don’t really care for either the Miami Heat or the Dallas Mavericks (although I would like Mark Cuban to hire me).
In the past, even if I wasn’t necessarily a fan of a particular team, I at least hated one of the teams, ie Lakers. This year I just don’t care. I’ve still been watching the games, but with very limited enthusiasm. Maybe some sort of storyline will come out of this to make it at least a little interesting. Someone needs to say something about someone else. It’s just been so boring.

KRAP Radio 97.3
posted @ 12:24 pm in [ Entertainment ]
If you live in Cincinnati and were a fan of 97.3 FM Channel Z, chances are you probably aren’t anymore. Frankly, they just suck now. Thanks to the stupid “shuffle” bullshit, I can’t believe some of the songs I hear when I tune to them. How many times a day does anyone want to hear the old Cake song “Going the Distance?” Or how about the theme to the Drew Carey Show? Why the f*ck would you play a song titled “Cleveland Rocks” in Cincinnati!?
There are countless other lame songs that are probably playing there right now. I’m fine with playing older songs, but they play songs from 10 years ago that were never really that good to begin with. And can they go more than 20 minutes without playing a song from Nirvana? If I hear “Smells like Teen Spirit” one more time I’m going to jerk the wheel into a damn ditch!
I’m not saying that 97.3 is all bad, but this shuffle garbage has got to go. And I think I could pull a better morning show out of my ass.
I know I’m not the only person that feels this way. Everyone I’ve talked to thinks 97.3 sucks now. I guess WEBN is the only place left for real rock/alternative in Cincinnati.

I Hate my MTV
posted @ 11:43 am in [ Because I said so ]
I really, really hate everthing that is MTV. They have to be the lamest thing in entertainment these days. What pisses me off most is the crap that passes for television shows on their sorry network. Laguna Beach? The Hills? I don’t know which is worse; the show itself or the people who actually watch that garbage. “Hey, I wanna watch a bunch of rich snobby high school kids talk on the phone to their friends.” How entertaining! It is fact that just by watching five minutes of one of these shows will indeed make you less intelligent.
Maybe even worse is that f*cking ridiculous show Super Sweet 16. Jesus Christ why is this even on!? Spoiled brats want Daddy to throw them a party or they will demand to be emancipated. “I didn’t want the blue BMW I wanted the red BMW! I hate you!” says the stuck up bitch to her mom and dad.
Just as bad as the kids are the parents. I don’t care how rich you are. If you spend millions of dollars on a stupid party for your vapid slut of a daughter for her birthday, you are a f*cking idiot and you make me sick! You shouldn’t have that money to begin with because you clearly aren’t intelligent enough to justify such a bank account. I want to shoot you in the face.
MTV used to be the place to find good music videos, etc. Now it’s just sucking the intelligence right out of society.

Come see the Reds
posted @ 11:08 am in [ Sports ]
Every year it’s the same thing. “Why aren’t people going to see the Reds?” I don’t understand why attendance is always an issue with this town. We go through this crap every year and I’m sick of it. Everyone on the radio goes nuts because we don’t have 40,000 people at every game and they can’t figure out why. Well I’ll tell you why right now!
1. April and May are not going to see alot of huge crowds, particularly on weeknights. Kids are still in school and, especially this year, the weather is horrible.
2. The stadium isn’t exactly the easiest place to get to downtown. Traffic around the Cincinnati area is horrendous and unless you want to pay $20 to park anywhere near the stadium, you are gonna be walking.
3. Cincinnati is not as big as New York, Chicago, or Atlanta, so you have a smaller population of people to fill the seats.
4. For the past several years, the Reds have not been very good. While this has never stopped me from going to games, there are alot of people that don’t like to go see a losing team.
5. While tickets are as low as $5.00, anything else you may want to buy is gonna cost you. Just eating will cost at least $7 or $8 dollars a person. Someone like me needs to spend about $12 just to not starve. Let’s not even talk about the price of beer.
These are a few reasons we don’t have 45,000 a night packing the park. However, it is early June, and the Reds are in first place. I’m going to the game tonight and I know there will be a very large crowd, maybe even a sellout.
I really wish everyone around here would just shut the hell up about attendance at the games. I personally would go to every home game if I could because I love going and watching the Reds, win or lose. Tonight will only be my third game of the year, and not because I didn’t want to go to more. Sometimes you just don’t have the time. Attendance will pick up as the year goes on. Especially if we are still in contention for a playoff spot.

Gnarly Barkley
posted @ 10:55 am in [ Random Thoughts ]
Does the name of the band Gnarls Barkley have anything to do with former NBA star Charles Barkley? Or is it just a coincidence. Either way, what if some other band’s decided to garner inspiration from Sir Charles? We could hear music form the likes of
Snarls Harkley
Barles Charkley
Barly Arkley
Charley Brownley
Snarly Charley
Brawny Burley
Bilbo Bagley
Parker Posey
…You get the idea. You can even come up with your own! Go ahead and try it.
