I thought I’d share my co-worker Mike’s opinions on some of the current rules in the NFL. Even though he is a Steelers fan, I found these observations to be quite humorous.
1. Late hits are bullshit calls. How can you tell if a hit was late for the previous play when it could have just as easily been an early hit for the next play.
2. Lightning Delays are stupid because lightning is only static electricity and real men play in static electricity.
3. Roughing the passer/kicker is stupid because the defense should be rewarded for hitting players in those positions. If they can’t take those hits then they are pansies and should be removed from the league.
4. Sidelines are stupid, they should be replaced with brick walls.
5. The option to kick a field goal should be removed.
6. First downs should not be awarded every time the team gains 10 yards. They should be awarded every time a team makes one of the opposing players bleed.
7. The Offensive line should be replaced with parking cones and barbed wire.
I just wanted to pay my respects to Reds announcer Joe Nuxhall. Since I can remember, I listened to Joe and Marty call the Reds action on the radio. Nuxhall’s voice was Cincinnati Reds Baseball.
Although I never met him in person, Joe Nuxhall always reminded me of an uncle or a grandfather, like he would be the nicest guy if you talked to him. Listening to games just won’t be the same without him.
The Bengals will finish this season 3-13. Their third win will come against the Rams in a close game. The Bengals play the Miami Dolphins in the finale, which the Dolphins will win to avoid going 0-16.
