I really enjoyed my recent vacation. Was so good to be able to get away from the office cubicle, and find myself somewhere where the sun was hot, and where I could walk barefoot on a sandy beach. I really needed that escape. Things haven’t been particularly great at work, and I’ve been having some annoying issues with some of my colleagues, so these past few months have been somewhat unhappy. At least for a few days, I could leave all that behind, and not have to think about deadlines or office gossip, and instead just be free.I learned a number of things during my trip. I guess that’s because I really haven’t had much experience travelling, so a lot of what I did or had to do was pretty new to me. So for instance, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the passport tracking system which is currently in place works so well. I was getting a bit nervous about whether my documents would make it in time, but my doubts were assuaged somewhat by my ability to keep tabs on where that really important document was, throughout the process.Another thing that surprised me were the UK passport fees. It wasn’t a pleasant surprise unfortunately, but perhaps that’s just the really frugal part of me. After all, it did take me quite a while to save up for this particular trip, so every additional expense, especially the ones I wasn’t very familiar with, was an unwelcome drain. But then again, there was no way around it after all, and I did have myself a pretty wonderful trip, so I’m thinking it would be better not to dwell on the negative things at this point.
