If you live in Cincinnati and were a fan of 97.3 FM Channel Z, chances are you probably aren’t anymore. Frankly, they just suck now. Thanks to the stupid “shuffle” bullshit, I can’t believe some of the songs I hear when I tune to them. How many times a day does anyone want to hear the old Cake song “Going the Distance?” Or how about the theme to the Drew Carey Show? Why the f*ck would you play a song titled “Cleveland Rocks” in Cincinnati!?
There are countless other lame songs that are probably playing there right now. I’m fine with playing older songs, but they play songs from 10 years ago that were never really that good to begin with. And can they go more than 20 minutes without playing a song from Nirvana? If I hear “Smells like Teen Spirit” one more time I’m going to jerk the wheel into a damn ditch!
I’m not saying that 97.3 is all bad, but this shuffle garbage has got to go. And I think I could pull a better morning show out of my ass.
I know I’m not the only person that feels this way. Everyone I’ve talked to thinks 97.3 sucks now. I guess WEBN is the only place left for real rock/alternative in Cincinnati.

Everything about Cinci is trashy so it doesn’t surprise me that the locals would play a “Cleveland Rocks” song.
I must digress a little and say the Bengals official website is tacky! It may even be worse than their actual uniforms. Black and gold is so much better…

97.3 is a nationally owned radio station. They lost Howard Stern in the morning and our market needed a morning show. The next best thing was Cleveland’s morning show, and it is bad. I listen to the WEBN Dawn Patrol every morning because it is a Cincy morning show, however they are broadcasted in other markets because it is such a good show. My point is, someone else in another market is probably wondering the same thing about why they have to listen to a Cincinnati Morning show when they live in Eastern Iowa.

I hate to break it to ya, but 97.3 is going to be country soon. If you tune into 94.9 The Star they’re saying that it is soon going to be 97.3 The Wolf and 94.9 The Star is no longer going to exsist. - I don’t know where 97.3 is going. Let me know if you hear anything.

I guess we’ll find out at noon Thursday (11/9). I’ve been listening to the countdown on 94.9 and in addition to the “One Day, One Hour, 22 seconds” etc., the Stephen Hawking voice will say an old song, line from an old song, reference to an old TV show or something topical for the ’80’s and 70’s. I just hope it’s not another fuck*ng oldies station.

I actually LOVE rover radio. It’s more intelligent than Howard Stern, and at least goes somewhere when compared to Bob and Tom. I’ll be pretty sad, and will probably listen to rover online. I can’t imagine the thug garbage a cinci morning show would have to put together to gain listeners.

I agree, they need to boost the signal! I drive an hour and 1/2 to work every day and quit listening to the radio untill I found Ken & Kitty. Listened every morning till they moved. Now I can not pick them up and I work in Cedarville Ohio! I have told people in my area but they cant pick them up!

I always listen to Ken & Kitty. I even tried to keep up with them when the station kept changing. Now that they are on 97.3 I get so much static on the radio, when I am on I-71 between St Rt 48 (just above Kings Island ) until I get past the Fields Ertle exit. I try to listen thru the static but sometimes it is so bad I am forced to change the station. Sorry Ken & Kitty . Please do something about the reception, this never happens on any other station it shouldn’t on yours. Maybe if I had a fine tuning knob like we had before everything was digital I could tune you in but that is impossible to do now a days.
Just wanted to let you know. I try to be a loyal listener but sometimes it’s impossible.
