Big Mouth Bastard
posted @ 11:19 pm in [ Sports ]

Just keep talking Cowher, you ass. Don’t think we’re gonna forget all your who dey bullshit. You think you’re so creative, trying not to let out that girlish giggle as you lead your little who dey chant. Enjoy the off season. Enjoy that trophy you don’t deserve (at least not for this season.) People who steal sooner or later get caught.

man you need to calm down the who dey thing was really stupid any way do you really think that was any different than chad johnson using a terrible towel as a bib

  2. Ken Says:

I will not calm down! I am angry!

  3. CincySux Says:

Yes, the fact that your team/fans rallied around something like “who dey,” (need I point out the uneducated aspects of this) is really a mark of shame. That is like saying - look our football players CAN act less intelligent - LETS SUPPORT IT! (expecting Ken to say something about Porter) Can we help it is Cowher recognizes how ridiculous it is? No. Maybe a Chad Johnson endzone dance can feature him teaching some proper grammar to his team mates. That would be cute….yeah.

  4. Ken Says:

I just think it’s really lame of him to steal another team’s slogan. It’s one thing to do it after beating us, but to still be saying “who dey” a month later is pretty weak.

  5. CincySux Says:

Do you REALLY want THAT as your Slogan though? In all seriousness, can that slogan (should you choose to call it that) really apply after being run out of the playoffs? Because really, “Who dey” is now “They Dey” if you think about it. Or even “The Steelas Dey” (trying to adapt to accomodate the source language)

I mean - it really can’t be used if (or) until you are in a playoff run for next year.

  6. Ken Says:

You’re reading way to much into this. It is known that “Who Dey” is a Bengals thing and has been for years. It would be the same as some team other than the Browns calling a section of their stadium the “dawg pound”. You have your terrible towels, we have who dey.

  7. Brooks Says:

Here is the long and the short of the Who Dey cheer…

The Who Dey cheer was started way back in 1981 by a Bengals player from New Orleans. They don’t speak English very well down there, and when we went on our run, much like the Steelers did this year, that player was interviewed and Who Dey came out of his mouth, and it caught on.

Regardless if it is grammatically correct or not, it is our cheer. When your franchise hasn’t had very much to cheer about in the past 15 years there aren’t a lot of traditions to hold on to. We have the Ickey Shuffle and the Who Dey cheer. Thanks to Pittsburg they have disgraced both of them. Although the Hines Ward Ickey Shuffle dance hurt Bengals fans, he is a player. He is, I think, younger than 30 years old. The players, especially wide recievers, are supposed to be outrageous to help them get in the head of the opposing DB. Bill Cowher is a coach, the 47 year old face of the Steelers. My question for you is this, Do you want the face of your team jumping around on, thanks to ESPN, national television like jojo the idiot circus boy insulting teams or do you want him to show a little class. Being behind close doors acting stupid is fine. (i.e. doing the We Dey chant after beating the Bengals), but doing it on national television is getting a little out of hand. Would Vince Lombardi do that? Would Paul Brown do that? Would Tom Landrey do that? Would Woody Hayes do that? The answer to all of those questions is NO (and Woody was a crazy son of a bitch).

One thing we have learned in Cincinnati, thanks to grand master quote CJ, is to not give any opposing teams billboard material. Bill Cowher did just that, twice. After the first We Dey occurance, Marvin supposedly called Cowher and spoke to him about it. No one knows what was said. Cowher just did the same thing again. The bad thing, for Pittsburg, is that coaches don’t switch teams like players do. Marvin and Bill are going to be a their perspective posts for the next 5 years at the minimum. Cowher just gave Marvin billboard material for the next 5 years. For all we know, Cowher may have just insulted Marvin by doing the We Dey thing again!

If the 2006 season were to start today, Pittsburg would be approx. $5.67 million over the cap. Naturally their team will not be the same next year, maybe it will be worse than last year. If that is the case, when the Steelers and Bengals play again it would not surprise me if Marvin runs up the score to get even with Cowher and just humiliate the Steelers. Bill may have just sealed his own fate.

I hope for Steelers Fan’s sake Marvin shows a little more sense when he is given his opportunity.

  8. CincySux Says:

Brook (leave the ‘H’ off of Pittsburgh, leave the ‘S’ of of Brooks), your mentality is like this:

A janitor at a hosptial telling a neuro-surgeon how to operate.

The water boy critiquing the head coach.

Brook and the whole city of Cincinat ( No ‘I’ for you) think that they can come overthrow the governing body for life. You may have your day or two, but you’re far behind in the game.

I ignored that whole WHO DEY essay there because I felt like you had lost your manhood while writing it and I was fearful for mine.

  9. CincySux Says:

Oh sorry, as not to disturb the mighty ego of the city… Cincinnat (forgot an N)

  10. bengals 2020 Says:

when did he say who dey other than after the bengals game i missed it and if he did then i do think it was low class not because it was a dig a another team but because it was a dig at a team that was so far forgotten by anyone not in the city of cincinnat that i don’t understand why you would even bother

  11. Angry Ken Says:

He said it at the pep rally thing in Pittsurgh Tuesday. And don’t worry. Everyone will hear about that team from Cincinnati soon enough.

    Cincysux makes less sense everyday.

  12. steel city gal Says:

Bengals 2020: Coach Cowher said who dey at the parade celebration in Pittsburgh upon their return.

It was stupid for Cowher to say that again as we know how uneducated anyone sounds saying it. But as I am learning in my 26 years of life, men say a lot of dumb ass things to sound tough and cool and Cowher apparently is no exception.

You can have your “Who Dey”. But just remember “We Dey Team That Kicked Yo’ Ass”. And we will re-educate you in another ass-kicking next year.

  13. Ken Says:

    Yeah we’ll see.

  14. CincySux Says:

Steel city gal, I’m sure men have said some pretty dumb things to you like, “I love you” or possibly “I do” (sorry couldn’t resist)

Ken, I’ve noticed I reall have been making less sense too lately, but I still have a long way to fall before I hit the level of some of these people.

    …and you know that’s true

  15. Steel City Gal Says:

You’re right CincySux, I did find a guy dumb enough to say “I do.” You men are so easily manipulated…you will never learn. All it takes is a pair of breasts and a quick glance and you are at our command. And my husband doesn’t try to deny that fact because he knows it’s true!

  16. Ken Says:

Women are evil. Maybe I should do an article about that.

  17. 123LetsRide Says:

Bulliten Board material is overrated anyway. If this Who Dey stuff is going to provide years of Bulliten Board material then so is the Terrible Towel bib thing. I doubt either will have much of an impact. As a Pittsburgh Fan, I’m actually thrilled that Cincy is improving. I love good football and Bengal’s have provided little of that over the last decade or so. It sucks about Palmer. I hope he recovers to 100%. He is a good guy and shows promise to be a great QB for years to come. All that said, you Bengal’s fans need to give all the bitching a break. Ken, perhaps you should take your own advice that you gave to Kerry/Edwards supporters and just get over it already. One last point, if Marvin Lewis really called Bill to discuss the “WhoDey” thing, that is just pathetic. Besides, you didn’t really think that you were going to win the Super Bowl this year did you? Teams usually need to play defense to do that.

  18. marcos Says:

Man, did anybody bother to read “the history of the Who dey thing” from Brooks? I took one look at that entry and rolled my eyes harder than I’ve ever rolled them before. I hate Brooks trying to be the fucking scholar of this site. For crying out loud, man, put down the encyclopedia and get an opinion.

On second though, keep your opinions in check too. They’re usually fucking stupid. “Ben Wothwisberger no good uhg uhg, Cawson is best uhhg!” “Steewes no good nest year! uhg uhg salawy cap uhg!”

Holy shit! I just read another sentence of it! “Regardless if it’s grammatically correct it’s our cheer.”
Brooks stands up in front of a Bengals flag slowly waving….wipe away a tear….

  19. Angry Ken Says:

Maybe if you actually read what Brooks said you could learn something. I know reading is something Steeler fans are accustomed to, but at least try. I never liked Cowher, but I respected him. After the first who dey stunt, I lost alot of respect for him, but I got over it. Since he did it again, I am now convinced that Cowher is a piece of trash. At least he’s on the right team in the right city.

  20. rightwingprof Says:

If this makes you angry, you need to get a job, loser.

  21. steel city gal Says:

That whole get a job thing was funny…the first time we heard it. Shut the hell up already and think of something new to say. Fucking idiots.

  22. steel city gal Says:

Oh, and by the way rightwingprof, your blog SUCKS!

  23. Angry Ken Says:

I fell asleep before I even got a quarter down the page of that blog. BOOORING!

  24. Andy K Says:

who the fuck cares? quit whining. we won and you lossed. get over it. so we stole your sacred phrase: “Who-Dey” wow just saying it makes the hair on my neck stand. and wait, the mere sound of the words has cured my brother of cancer. this is incredible. common. Fuck off. Quit whining. Lets act like big boys, shall we.

  25. steelerfan Says:

Its pretty amusing claiming the steelers stole the Who Dey chant from the Bengals, when in actuallity we dont want it. Cowher is saying that in a “cut-up” way. Just rubbing the victory in even more, which is great.
And by the way cincy stole the who dey chant themselves

    http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20051002/SPT02/510020350

How about all those copycat teams out here that stole the terrible towel from us? I know for a fact Cincy fans have orange towels, cause i took one from one when we played the Bengals at Heinz field. At least we can claim to be original in Pittsburgh.

You bitch ass bungles fans need to quit whining for a few months….

  26. steel city gal Says:

I am so frightened at the poor grammar skills that run rampant on this site. Basic skills learned in grade school has eluded some of you guys.

Anyone have insomnia? I have the cure! Just go to rightwngprof’s blog and I promise in a matter of minutes you will be sleeping like a baby.

  27. Ken Says:

I was like, “common blog, be more funny.” But I couldn’t fight and I “lossed” my ability to stay awake.

  28. Ken Says:

People have been waving towels at sporting events since the dawn of time. You fools didn’t invent it. I think every team has towels now. And orange is a way better color than crappy yellow.

  29. Pat Cunningtrombone Says:

Woody Hayes was a goofy bastard, but a good coach. He blew it all when he coldcocked the Clemson player in the 1978 Gator Bowl, and Ohio State said that was enough, you idiot. But he was a good coach and a stupid bastard!!!!
