I like cars
posted @ 10:39 pm in [ Cars ]
Every so often I get the itch to buy a new car, but it usually fades away. Either that or I can’t decide which car I like anymore (other than Mustangs of course).
Lately I love the Mazdaspeed3. Problem is I don’t want to get rid of the vehicle I have now, and I don’t really want to deal with two separate car payments at the moment.
I imagine rich people never have to worry with decisions like these. Maybe I’ll be really stupid and buy it anyway. Meh!

Exchanging of links is a great way to get exposure on the interwebs. For some reason MyAutocar.com wanted to make an exchange with my site. Naturally I agreed. So go check out MyAutocar.com: the web’s most comprehensive social networking community for automobile enthusiasts.
Just for kicks and giggles, my link can be found on their site here. Because I’ll take all the free publicity I can get.

Redline? More like flatline!
posted @ 6:45 pm in [ Cars - Entertainment - Movies ]

What do you get when you mix rich Euro trash with “The Fast and the Furious?” The movie “Redline,” which opens in theaters today. Will I see it? F*#@ NO! I bet this movie will make F&F look like an Oscar winner.
Obviously I do not have to see this movie to know that it is an absolute suckfest. Come on! The biggest star in the movie is Eddie Griffin? I know America is filled with idiots, but even they should feel insulted. And apparently the only selling point to this film is cool cars and hot girls, which I can see anywhere on the internet, or on the streets out here in Beverly Hills for that matter.
If there’s one upside to all this, it’s knowing that if a steaming pile of monkey crap like this can get made, then anything I write on a napkin can become a movie. Although I must admit, I will probably watch this movie (not at a theater) to see just how bad it really is, then think of all the ways I could’ve made it entertaining.

I really don’t know what else to say about this. The person responsible for this disaster should have their driving privileges revoked, and be beaten senseless.

GT No

The new 2007 Pontiac GTO concept doesn’t even look like a GTO at all.

This car could have a Lexus badge on it and it wouldn’t make a difference. Where are the muscular lines, the edge that should be visible with a modern incarnation of a classic muscle car?
You’d think Pontiac would look at the new Mustang and recently announced Camaro. For some reason, they want the GTO to look just like their other boring cars. It may have 400 hp, but what’s the point if it looks like all the other high end coupes.
Give me something with classic lines and raw power. For me, the only choice is the Ford Mustang. The greatest automobile ever made.

What advantages does this motorcar have over a train?
posted @ 1:47 pm in [ Cars ]
I really want a new car. I’ve been fighting myself over whether I really need and if I can afford a new car right now. My car right now is aright, but not great. Plus it’s about 10 years old, makes funny noises, and stalls out at idle alot.
As if the decision on whether to purchase a new vehicular transport wasn’t hard enough, what car do I choose? I’ve narrowed it down to a few choices and I could use some suggestions.
Everything I’m looking at is just under $20,000. I doubt I could swing anything higher than that at this time. Also keep in mind that the color of choice is black.
Mustang V6 coupe - Eventually, none of this will matter because I plan to purchase a Mustang GT one day when I can actually afford it. But for now, I think a V6 model would be cool enough, as long as it’s a manual.
Subaru Impreza 2.5 - This is the cheapest version of the Impreza starting at around $18,000. It may be the low end Subaru, but it still has a 170+ hp engine and a pretty nice design. Plus a manual would probably be a fun to drive. The next level up has a turbo engine with 220 hp and some visual upgrades, but the price goes up to over 24k. I could almost get a Mustang GT for that.
Mazda 3s - This falls pretty close to the Impreza. 160 some hp nice alloys and fun to drive. Not always sure how I feel about the design of the car though. A little round for my taste. This makes me lean more toward the sleeker, slightly more powerful Subaru.
So those are my top 3 choices for NEW cars right now. I think the Mustang, even with only a V6, would be the the bigger attention getter. I’m open to all and any suggestions.

Run Over by a Ghost
posted @ 3:55 pm in [ Cars - Entertainment - Funny ]
You may have heard about the latest dance craze sweeping the nation called “ghost riding the whip.” Here’s how you do it. You get your car to do a slow cruise down the road while you get out and dance along side the car as it’s rolling. Yes, it’s as dumb as it sounds. See for yourself. (I’ll put a link here later, or just Google ghost ride the whip.)
So here’s what is bound to happen. On a slow day, you’ll see a story on your local news about some dumbass getting run over while ghost riding his whip. Then they’ll talk about how controversial it is and how cops are cracking down and how many teens want to ghost ride the whip. I can’t wait when they report about some stupid teen that broke his leg after his honda civic ran him over while he was dancing.
I really don’t want to see this crap unless someone can actually be creative with it. Jumping out of a car and flailing about like a retarded gymnast is just stupid. I wanna see some sweet moves. Although it doesn’t really get any better than seeing someone become a human speed bump and get rolled over by their own vehicle. Now THAT’s what ghost riding the whip is all about!

Up and up

The gas prices keep rising and I think it’s bullcrap. I have to fill up on my way home from work today and I’ve already spent enough money this past week. What happened to the days when gas was right around $1.30 a gallon? Ah crap this sucks.
Is there any end in sight? Probably not. The way I see it, we all deal with the high cost of gas and eventually become used to it. After a while, We’ll be thrilled to have have gas prices at $3 a gallon when the price shoots up between $3.50 and $4.00 or higher. It’s all part of the damn oil companies’ plan.
The days of $2.00 gas are gone. Get ready to shell out half your paycheck on a damn tank of gas.

Rolling Toasters

Why do people buy those Scion xB’s? That has to be one of the ugliest cars ever made. It looks like a damn toaster. Everytime I see one on the highway I fully expect to see 2 giant pieces of bread pop out of the roof.
And not only are these cars ugly, they have no power. I think the stock engine on an xB puts out about 120 hp. That’s not a whole lot considering that Toyota pushed this as a performance car, unless they are marketing solely for visual customization.
So I guess they want idiot teenagers to buy these cars for about $14k, then spend another 5 to 10 grand on lame ass parts to make it look “cool”. What’s the point of having a tricked out car when it can be outrun by a school bus? You can add all the air intakes you want, but that car ain’t doing much under 20 seconds in the quarter mile. Plus, who wants to drive a box?!
If you’re gonna buy a Scion, at least buy the TC. They are kinda cool. Definitley better than the box and that other ugly one Scion makes.
I could never justify buying one of those Xbox-looking monstrosities.
