I can’t stand any of these teams, nor the people who cheer for them.
8. Duke University Basketball - Not really sure why I dislike them so much. I think it began back in 1998 when they played Cincinnati, and we beat them. It just almost seems unfair that this team will always be in the top 5 because they have the ability to recruit just about anyone they want.
7. Chicago Cubs - The fans blamed the collapse of their lousy team on a single guy named Steve Bartman. That’s just pathetic. I hate when the Cubs come to Cincinnati to play the Reds because a ton of their out of work bums for fans follow them and stink up our stadium. You guys are never gonna win a World Series. Just give up.
6. Boston Red Sox - You can put part of the blame for this one on Jimmy Fallon. My god am I sick of hearing about the Red Sox and fat bastard Manny Ramirez. I don’t care. When they come up on Sportscenter I change the channel. You’re almost as bad as the Yankees.
5. Cleveland Browns - Do I really have to explain? I’m from Cincinnati. It’s pretty much automatic. And Kellen Winslow is a complete retard. “I’M A SOLDIER! Now let me crash my motorcycle and ruin my career.”
4. Baltimore Ravens - Ray Lewis and Jamal Lewis, two pieces of shit who should be in jail. And I hate that Brian Billick gets so much credit for a team that won a Superbowl with Marvin Lewis’ defense. They’ll stay in the cellar until they get a capable quarterback.
3. New England Patriots - Does anyone who is NOT from Boston actually like this team? They’re made out to be this classy group of guys, though every time you see a highlight it’s of their players taunting the opposing team or its fans. If they get to the Superbowl again I probably won’t even want to watch the game.
2. New York Yankees - There’s a reason they call them the evil empire. Steinbrenner would buy the World Series trophy if they’d let him. Luckily they haven’t won a championship in the last few years because their players are all old.
1. Pittsburgh Steelers - The Steelers have proven what a classless group they are. I at least had respect for BIll Cowher, but not anymore after his little WhoDey cheerleader act. Payback’s a bitch.
Dishonorable Mention: L.A. Lakers - One of the biggest bandwagon teams ever. So glad they suck now.

[…] Here are the Top8 Most Hated Sports teams via our good buddy Angry Ken. Here is where the article is. […]

First, I love the list.
But as for your dishonorable mention, while I too hate the Lakers, I would not say they suck. Not as good as they once were (with Shaq), but far from being in the dungeon with the Hawks.
Also, as you know, I freakin hate the Steelers. But for some strange reason, I have a crazy amount of respect for Bill Cowher. It is nice to see a coach stick with the same team for an entire career.
Now, I heard about the dumb “WeDey” cheer in the locker-room, but what was Cowher’s role in that?
Even if he started the damn cheer, I still don’t think I would lose my respect for the man. But, I respect your right to lose your respect for him.
Did I mention I hate the Steelers?

He is a great coach. Passionate, pissed off and unrelenting. It would really suck to have Dave Wannstatd or some boner like that. The Steelers got lucky.

ken….. why are you and the people of cincinatti such stupid dicks? recently there was a report on the radio that palmers career might be over. i honestly felt horrible because i acknowledge that he is and is going to be a great player. however you cannot show any respect to the steelers. ben worthlessburger? wtF? could you look any stupider
January 16th, 2006 at 3:42 pm
Ken, you may have been the Steelers saving grace in Indianapolis. Please say that the Broncos will roll over us too.
January 16th, 2006 at 5:25 pm
No way. I am done predicting. This is why I don’t gamble.
January 17th, 2006 at 10:48 am
hey andy k why don’t you shove it up your ass. how bout that? you are the stupid dick who doesn’t know how to spell cincinnati. no respect for the steelers because they didn’t deserve the win! pure luck is all it was.
January 17th, 2006 at 4:51 pm
Other than the Bengals, what other teams do you all hate? Not you though Andy K. I couldn’t give two shits about what you think.
January 18th, 2006 at 2:59 pm
15 and 1 last year and no respect. Whipped the Colts fair still no respect. I guess I would be a whiner too if one team came in and beat my cities team every time they play when it counts. Seriously I like your site Ken and it does rub me the wrong way but that’s why I like it. BUt this is the Steeler’s year and they deserve it. And boy won’t it tick you guys off when a second year quaterback comes in and leads a team to the superbowl. WE WILL REMAIN THE MOST HATED NFL TEAM. But that’s how we like it and that’s why we love to win in your house. he he — and rub out your quaterbacks

Don’t get too ahead of yourself there Charlie. I believe the Steelers still have one more game before they can start making travel arrangements for Detroit. And last time I checked, the Broncos were playing pretty good football.

There’s no way the Steelers are more hated in sports than the Yankees. I tend to hate more separate players than entire teams but the Yankees are special. They’re like a crime family than a team. Cash is simply shooting out of their asses and steroids are coursing through their veins. They’ve almost single-handedly ruined the sport of baseball for me.
The only thing I enjoy about baseball now is going to the ballpark on a sunny day, having a hot dog, and relaxing. Of course, in the long run, there’s no hope out there anymore for teams playing against capitalist giants and juicers.

WHO DEY……………DUDE I FELL YA…………….STEELERS or SQUEELERS SUCK ASS…DIRTY CHEATING BASTARDS

As a Ravens fan since their arrival in Baltimore, I obviously take issue with your Raven rant. However, I feel you are entitled to your frustration after enduring the likes of Bruce Coslett and Corey “I ain’t going back in the game and let the Ravens’ D bitch slap me no mo!” I think Marvin Lewis is a class act and you are lucky to have him. I totally agree that Billick gets too much credit since it was the defense that Lewis put together through the Ravens early years that brought another title to Baltimore. As for the whiners in Cleveland–total agreement! Clevelanders have to be the 2nd most pathetic fans on the planet. Modell moves the team, but leaves the colors and history (thank God) in Cleveland. Then, they get a brand new stadium via the NFL’s stadium welfare program so they can have a team again in a few years. Baltimore had to wait 12 years and endure the NFL’s bullshit expansion competition. We also have to watch our beloved horseshoe in a city that has absolutely no business having an NFL franchise (stick to the brickyard Hoosiers!). None of the old Baltimore Colts have anything to do with those posers in Indy. Baltimore made the NFL what it is today! Johnny U and the Baltimore Colts made the NFL a television event. Nuff said on that.
Finally, as for the that rustbelt truckstop in western PA–I totally agree on your assessment. Pittsburgh is an absolute toilet of a place! The only reason Squeeler fans are so rabid is that there is nothing else there but old steel mills, trailer parks, and ketchup signs. If they do win this Super Bowl, it will be their first relatively steroid free championship. One for the thumb???? That slogan ended with “in ‘81″…think of something else you morons! I can’t wait to see Cowherd standing on the sideline as the clock ticks away while losing the Super Bowl like he did back in SB XXX! Bring back Neil O’Donnell!!! The only good thing to ever come out of Pittsburgh is the Big Mac…that’s it!
Go Seahawks…screw the Rooneys!

P.S. I forgot one of the most important reasons to hate the Steelers (if you’re from Baltimore)…………they actually cut Johnny Unitas…that’s right–CUT the greatest QB of all time…Squeelers’ inability to spot talent created a legend in Baltimore and the NFL.
UNITAS WE STAND!

Hate the Steelers, if yo must, we still love you. Go to any game, anywhere in the US, when the Steelers visit. More Steeler fans than the home team. Show me another club with as much rich history, tradition and loyalty as the Steelers and their fans have. Two coaches in forty years, five rings, 17 HOF including two owners, one coach and one on the way…
Hi Ray:
Pull your head out of your shorts and read a paper, magazine, news cast or clipping of any sort.
Pittsburgh has reclaimed the top spot in a new ranking of the nation’s most livable cities. The 25th anniversary edition of “The Places Rated Almanac” will puts Pittsburgh on TOP for the first time since 1985. This is the first time a city has repeated in the number one spot. Kind of like Super Bowls! First team to repeat, twice…
Truck stop I think not. Try living in Baltimore. Were we boast, you can get your car stolen, then burgularized & asaulted, your wife (I am certain you are single so no worries here) raped and murdered at a rate >5 times the national average. Adding to that flavor, introducing Ray Lewis…can you say murderer? My bad, that was Atlanta, don’t even get me started about Atlanta. Sick Vick, murdering dogs, Andru Jones, cudzu…See you in Phoenix.
