Do you mean because Cincy was beat by the Steelers and now the Steelers are going all the way? I hated that feeling after being beaten by the Patriots 3 times enroute to their 3 championships. You try and validate it any way you can.
I’d just like to point out that everyone calls Pittsburgh the big team of the AFC throughout the years but without a superbowl win it’s nothing really. So in reality, I have never seen them win a superbowl in my life. I’ve seen them lose one in 95. But in the 24 years of my life…nothing. Hurtful losses. All my life. You’re not alone.
Just because you got beat by a good team does not nessasarily valdate you as a good team it just means you didn’t get beat by a bad team if you were to use your logic the browns lions packers vikings 49ers cards and the texans were also good teams because they got beat by the teams going to the super bowl
Rocknroll has a point it did not make me feel any better when the pats won the super bowl last year. it didn’t matter that we lost to the best we lost to the we still lost
I love football. See, that’s the difference between Steeler fans and the rest of you chumps. No matter what heartache we endure throughout the season, we still love our team and the great game of football.
Yes, the Bengals got beat, but we also won a game over you guys this year. I know I’ve said this before and the Steeler people think I’m crazy, but I truly believe we would’ve won the playoff game had Palmer not gotten hurt. I don’t know if we would’ve made it past Denver or Indy, but I know we would’ve wont that first game. You can let me have it for saying it, but that’s my final thought. Oh, and the Bengals and Steelers should definitely get a prime time game next season.
If we could man-handle Peyton the way we did, I have no doubt we would have beaten Cinci regardless of who was at QB. But I certainly don’t blame you for thinking that way. I swear every year that if factor X or Y was there, we would have taken it all the way.
As fot the prime time game next year…that would be a hell of a game.
This year was the Bengals only chance. All of the rebuilding of the team has led up to this. I don’t expect to see the Bengals in the playoffs for a long time again.
Prepare to eat your words from your previous post: “The Bengals will win a Championship before the Steelers. Mark my words.”
Are you serious Marcos? Bengals not in the playoffs for a long time? Where is the logic in that? Unless you are expecting Carson Palmer’s career to be over. And I didn’t say that. I said, “The Bengals will reach and win the Superbowl well before the Steelers do again. Mark my words.” Speaking of last chances, Are the Steelers going to be better next year than this year? Fuck! I told myself I wasn’t going to talk about this anymore.
I’ll be back here same time next year to see you eat your words. The way I predict it the Steelers will win the AFC north again after slipping this year. Oh well, there’s more than one way to make the playoffs.
The Steelers have a predominently young team, so they have a solid chance at creating another dynasty like back in the day. They will be back in the hunt next year.
like ken said unless palmer is done they will make it back but next year might be rough with carson still getting better and our team is mostly young but we are getting old at key spots like the line on both sides of the ball
I will be rooting for the steelers too. Yes they deserve to die because of what they did to the Carson, but they did get to the Super Bowl from the 6th string. That doesn’t mean I’m not mad at them anymore. Carson still would have kicked their butt the the first game if they hadn’t cheated!
Regardless, I’m glad the Steelers have proven themselves by annhilating the competition in the playoffs to make everyone forget about Cincinnati and Indy again. I was getting tired of all that better-than-the-Steelers talk. God, I hope they win the superbowl. Shaun Alexander is going to have 67 total yards and that high-pitched Tyson-like voice of his is going to be devoid of any interview thereafter. And that punk-ass Hasselbeck. This dude belongs at Phi Kappa Sigma taking belly shots and beer bongs. I hate that clip they keep showing of him sliding into the end zone for a touchdown. I dare him, I fucking dare him to leave the pocket.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you know, at this point, I WANT the Steelers to win.
That way, when they get handled by the Bengals next year, it will be that much sweeter…

I feel like Luke is one of those special kids where we just pat his head and say “Sure they will, big guy. Sure they will.”
January 23rd, 2006 at 2:43 pm
Give him a glass of milk. They like that too.
January 23rd, 2006 at 7:32 pm
Luke is right though. The fact that the Steelers are in the Superbowl at least validates Cincinnati as a good football team.

“Because of what they did to Carson?” Are you friggin serious?! It was unintentional and anyone who believes anything to the contrary is in denial.

Bengals were, and are, better than the Steelers.
