And guess who killed it. That’s right. Everyone’s favorite white boy poser Kevin Federline. Or as the “cool” people call him, K-Fed.
I happened to stumble upon the Fed’s world premiere performance last night at the teen choice awards, which is basically a clown show for kids.
I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry while watching this. I would say it was god awfully bad, but that would be too kind to describe what occured on that stage.
Basically, Mr. Federation records (gay) tried to rap about how much money he has, and that he is a superstar and people shouldn’t hate, all while grabbing his crotch for most of the “performance”. The network also had to edit his lyrics several times on a show meant for teens and younger. Fantastic.
Rap music has gotten really bad over the past few years, but I think K-Fed was the final nail in that coffin. Rap has pretty much ceased to exist as a valid form of music. (Luckily, there will always be the underground, which is the only place left for creative rhymes.)
If I had a teen son or daughter, I will adamantly forbid them to watch/listen to crap like Federline. And I guarantee they would thank me later. I’m not joking when I say someone should shoot the douchebag right in the head. We don’t need people like this in our society. Stop this garbage before it’s too late. Do it for the children.

Please, someone, shoot K-Fed in the head for the children.
You’re a dumbass Ken.

Thank you.

Any time my friend, any time.
August 21st, 2006 at 11:52 am
I was thinking you were going to comment on the fact that its been 10 years since the death of Tu-pac or that Busta Rhymes was arrested this weekend for beating up some fellow… I don’t even think K-Fed classifies as a hip hop artist. Dr Suess made rhymes too - would you call him a rap stun-nah?
August 21st, 2006 at 11:55 am
I don’t consider Federline a rapper. I only put him in this because he is trying to be one. We all know Dr. Suess has way more street cred than K-Fed ever will.
Wow it’s weird to think that Tupac died 10 years ago. That was the beginning of the end for rap.
August 21st, 2006 at 12:14 pm
I’ll never forget the day Tupac died. Not because I was a fan and thought it was horrible (though any time someone dies it’s horrible) but because of Mr. Martin, my high school principal.
In his deep Texan accent, he got on the loud speakers and announced (and I will spell it phonetically as he said it) “Tupack Shackure has been keeled.”
August 21st, 2006 at 12:27 pm
I already forgot the day that Tupac died. If it weren’t for VH1 - I wouldn’t remember it now. Just like I don’t remember the day Kurt Cobain died or Joey Ramone. People die everyday and - coincendentally take their talent with them.
What day did the music die? Was that when Elvis died? if thats the case, then last week was the anniversary of when music died.
August 21st, 2006 at 12:36 pm
I wonder if P. Diddy would be as big of a dipshit as he is if Biggie were still around.
August 21st, 2006 at 3:02 pm
i hate to say this but ua actually right, i love rap but man have i been disappointed lately. With the exception of Common and Talib Kweli, these new rappers have absolutely no substance in their rhyming. They know nothing and it shows in their lyrics, talking of everything from money, cars, clothes and women. Is that all their life has offered them? Its sad. I miss the pac and biggie days bad. Why is ‘k-fed’ talking about his money, he does realize that we all know its his wife’s not his right? Or is he too stupid to know that as well.
All we can hope for now is for someone great to come along and blow our minds.
August 21st, 2006 at 3:12 pm
Maybe I should resurrect my plans for a rap career.
August 21st, 2006 at 3:14 pm
Lol Ken
August 21st, 2006 at 3:14 pm
Lol Ken, yeah u do that!
August 21st, 2006 at 3:27 pm
I’d get shot.
August 21st, 2006 at 3:38 pm
yeah but on the positive side, u’d be k-fed nemesis, ud get a chance to put him to shame. Lol
August 21st, 2006 at 3:44 pm
well, then someone can write a song about you getting shot and bring life back to hip hop
and Beantown - totally agree about Common, Jurassic 5, Black Eye Peas (pre Fergie- of course), Ken - just listen to the old school hip hop - its way better anyways, and there is a back log thicker than the old and new testiment combine, you’ll be fine for a while
August 21st, 2006 at 3:50 pm
The only rap I really listen to is old school. It’s funny how alot of people think the Black Eyes Peas are kinda new when they’ve been around for quite awhile. Also gotta give it to the Beastie Boys. Even though they were one of the pioneers of rap, they don’t get the credit they should because they’re white.
I heard an old Bone Thugs and Harmony song the other day and it reminded me of how rap like that was dark and hardcore. Not the sissy bullshit we have today.
August 21st, 2006 at 3:55 pm
Maybe it’s just me, but when I listen to rap and hip-hop, I don’t listen for substance. I want a good beat I can shake my ass to.
If I want great music, I pop in Frank Sinatra or Billie Holiday. More modern artists that are pretty kick-ass are Justin Timberlake (laugh all you want but the kid has talent), Keane, Kanye West…
Oh, I miss the Violent Femmes. I totally wish they would release a new album! But I never get tired of the old. Ever.
August 21st, 2006 at 4:00 pm
Beats are just as important, but the wrong lyrics can ruin even that. And I just can’t agree on Justin Timberlake. I think he sucks big time.
What’s even worse is the guys that used to be good, but totally sold themselves out. Guys like Snoop Dogg, Master P, etc. Sad.
August 21st, 2006 at 4:41 pm
i agree with u Ken about lyrics ruining the song, unless im in da club, i gotta have good lyrics.
When was master p ever good? he sucks, and his acting, dont get me started.
August 21st, 2006 at 4:55 pm
Ghetto D was his last good album. Before that he had a couple good ones with Ice Cream Man. After that he was just putting out records just to make money.
And yes, horrible actor.
August 21st, 2006 at 4:57 pm
Master P — hehehe — all I see now is dancing with the star out takes in my mind.
And SCG — a good shake your bootey song is always appreciated, even from modern artists. Its just that is all anyone seems to try to make anymore is shake your bootey music. Like - there is no group aspiring to be a modern Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Leaders of the New School, Digable Planets, or Wu-Tang. All of those guys are producers now. No more roller skate jams, or bonita applebums, or lost wallets in el segundo. I miss the happy days of hip hop, when hip hop was fun and guys like young mc and flea were wearing pants made of stuffed animals.
August 22nd, 2006 at 6:54 am
rap should be dead, he did us a favor.
August 22nd, 2006 at 10:07 am
Rap has never been my cup of tea. If I’m not dancing, I don’t listen to it. Maybe that’s why I don’t appreciate the significance of these artists you all talk about. I’ve never even heard of most.
I have friends that are talented musicians trying to make it in Nashville and LA so if I want real, authentic tunes, I pop in one of their cd’s. Once a musician gets a record deal from a big label, they usually lose their gritty edge. I highly suggest listening to your local bands. You’ll be pleasantly surprised at the unknown talents lurking out there.

There is a link on this page to view the performance for those of you who are just itching to know “how can it really be?”

I have got to thank you for saying what needs to be said. If I hear “popozao” one more time, I’m going to have to kill someone! I don’t listen to rap all that much, but I was interested to see how bad K-Fed was. If you’re curious DON’T DO IT! IT WILL SCAR YOU FOR LIFE! I’m still recovering.
August 23rd, 2006 at 8:46 am
Don’t care much for rap, but I WOULD like to see a clip of Steel City Gal shaking her booty : )
And you were still in HS 10 years ago, SGC? Why, yer just a pup! ; )
*ruffles SGC’s hair and pinches her cheek*

Don’t mistake me as naive merely because of my age zDom. I’ve experienced enough in my short time to probably teach you a thing or two.
