Would anyone out there be apposed to a 5-year ban on radio play for the band Nirvana, or does everyone like hearing 15 year old songs played every half hour?
I have nothing against Nirvana, but for god’s sake, I don’t need to hear “Smells Like Teen Spirit” or “Heart Shaped Box” 30 times everyday! There has been no break from these and other Nirvana songs for years. Cobain has been dead for 15 years. Is this some really annoying way of honoring him? Why not just create a radio station that plays nothing but Nirvana around the clock? Not that they aren’t close to that already. I might appreciate these songs more if I didn’t have to hear them all the freaking time! Tell me I’m not the only one who feels this way. I commute roughly 45 minutes to and from work everyday, and it is guaranteed that I will hear at least one Nirvana song going either way. I say enough is enough!
Another band I could go my entire life without hearing again is Sublime. Now I know all the potheads, stoners, and burnouts will say,
“No way man! Sublime is cool man. You don’t know music man.”
But what I do know is that I don’t want to hear them on the radio anymore. They are overplayed almost as much as Nirvana. Note to all other musicians: if you want to get your music played to the point of exhaustion, be dead!
But since I moved to Los Angeles a couple months ago, I’ve noticed one very good thing about the radio stations here.
KROQ NEVER plays Hinder!!! And I love it!!!

Dude, you listen to the actual radio and admit it in public?
Most people run their MP3 player through the car stereo, or they have the Sirius or XM turned on, or worse case the 10 CD player.
Radio is so 1980s.

Don’t have an MP3 player, don’t want an MP3 player. There isn’t enough good music out there to justify buying one.

Don’t listen to music then!
You should think the words you write before you write them.
This is a contradiction. You say you don’t like the music out there but still you listen to the radio. You are pretty much stupid.

You are pretty much Amish. I said there is not a lot of good music, which doesn’t mean I just drive in silence. If a crappy song comes on, I change the station until something a little better comes on. And radio is free. I’m not paying $20 a month for the same music without commercials.

I havent heard anything new in years personally. everytime I turn on the rock station I hear all the same stuff I listened to in high school. But I’m not a hard core listener either. Not that im complaining either; those songs rocked!

XM and Sirius are way more than just commercial free. Sirius has a bunch of the old MTV VJ’s running those stations and they rock the house.
Besides, it’s only about $14 and that’s a small price to pay to drive down the road ROFLMFAO listening to Stern.

Nirvana sucks
Hinder sucks
Howard Stern and any platform that employs him sucks
Therefore IncrediBILL, as a supporter of 67% (at least) of the aforementioned suckfest, must also suck.

a) Foo Fighters, IMO, are better than Nirvana EVER was. I can’t believe Grohl hid behind a drum kit in Nirvana when he had 10 time the talent of Kurt.
b) KROQ… that brings back (foggy) memories! Is Paraquat Kelley still on the radio in Southern Cali anymore?
c) “Classic Rock” stations pretty much ruined nearly all music from 1960 through 1980 for me. I am SO burnt out on “classic rock” now thanks to them bastiches.
d) Just because you don’t KNOW about music, Ken, doesn’t mean it isn’t out there. I just recently became aware of an acoustic guitar player by the name of Don Ross, for example. Check out his album “Robot Monster.”
Actually I’m not sure you will like it, but my point stands: there IS enough music out there to fill an iPOD up, if you just seek it out, Grasshopper.

I hate all knids of music except for country. I can’t get into listening to anything other than that. Why someone would want to go down the road with fucking Nirvana blaring is beyond me!! Can you please turn it down for all the ones who don’t like or listen to it? It’s called HEADPHONES!!!!
