Being that the big game is just a few hours away, I want to remind everyone that the Pittsburgh Steelers would not be here today had Cincinnati Bengal star quarterback Carson Palmer not been injured. So thank your lucky stars Steeler fans, and if you end up winning today, be sure that you give Kimo the Assassin a ticker tape parade through the slums of your dismal town. We will never forget “the second play”. Fuck the Stealers! AAAARGH!

What a horrible half time show. Crappy audio and a burnt out band. Now if only the refs could call the plays right……
February 5th, 2006 at 8:29 pm
The entire halftime show reminded me of Weekend at Bernies for some reason…
February 5th, 2006 at 10:56 pm
Was still better than any boy band or pop skank. And yes, the refs were clearly in Pittsburgh’s pocket in the first half.
February 6th, 2006 at 2:49 am
I’ll give you that offensive pass interference call was crap….
BUT, the ball DID break the goal line, he was just pushed back.
SUPER BOWL XL CHAMPIONS!!!!
Oh, BTW to be still stuck on the Cincy game….is just sad.
February 6th, 2006 at 7:35 am
What’s “super bowl”. Whole thing is a load of crap, imho
February 6th, 2006 at 8:57 am
And your logo looks constipated
February 6th, 2006 at 10:19 am
I can be stuck on the game as long as I want to. Gruder and nemesis, you both continue to make no sense whatsoever.
February 6th, 2006 at 11:11 am
I think its pretty ballsy to say if Carson palmer didn’t get hurt the Steelers wouldn’t even be here!!!! That’s actually quite laughable!
OBEY Steeler Baby!
February 6th, 2006 at 11:31 am
WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!! AND NO SMALL FEAT EITHER! 2 #1 SEEDED TEAMS, THE #2 AND #3 ON THE ROAD! HOWS THE WEATHER DOWN THERE KEN?!?!? WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
February 6th, 2006 at 11:46 am
Here We Go…Steelers…Here We Go! PITTSBURGH WON THE SUPERBOWL! ( Steeler fans know what song I am singing!!!)
Ken: Only championship caliber teams know how to pull out a win under any circumstance. The Bungals proved they couldn’t do it so the best team won that day and are now world champions!
February 6th, 2006 at 11:48 am
PGH natives: Any good homecoming parties happening this week that would be worth me driving to?
February 6th, 2006 at 12:32 pm
Any circumstance? You think if Big Ben had gone out 2 minutes into yesterdays game that you still would have won? I kinda doubt it.
February 6th, 2006 at 12:46 pm
If “Crazy Legs” Kitna can put 17 on the board against the Steelers, when Seattle, Indy, and Denver scored 10, 18, and 17 respectively… You HAVE to admit that with Palmer, it would have been a much different game. I’m not saying who would have won, but it would have been a lot closer, if not a different outcome.
February 6th, 2006 at 12:47 pm
Ken, What the fuck are you talking about? Ben was pretty much mediocre if not worse. Two interceptions, 9 for 21 passing, no 1st quarter first downs and a long list of short comings. The Steelers won any way because they’re not a surface-star team. The Bus was not a factor, Polomalu was not a factor. Pretty much all the guys that were hyped on the Steelers were in the background allowing everyone else on the Steelers to step up.
Steel City gal: sunday night was the craziest I’ve ever seen the city. This whole week down on E. Carson and Penn Ave. are going to be off the hook.
February 6th, 2006 at 12:57 pm
You are just a feeble sports fan, so sad…..
February 6th, 2006 at 1:04 pm
RocknRollSteelers: You are so correct. Ben wasn’t a positive factor in this game. But with the Steelers being a kick-ass team, they overcame their short-comings and the rest of the team stepped up and got the win. Maybe I’ll make drive to be there this week. Detroit was great and all, but there’s nothing like being in PGH for the homecoming celebrations.
For all you Cinci fans, that’s the way things are supposed to be done. Get your heads out your asses and recognize a championship team when you see one.
February 6th, 2006 at 1:44 pm
The only people that stepped up in the game were the referees. And nemesis, if you don’t start contributing something to this blog, then I will have no choice but to block you from leaving comments. You say the same thing on every post. At least try to have a point other than “sports are dumb.” This ain’t a poetry blog.

Seattle can thank their receivers and tight ends for losing the game for them, not the refs. I saw way too many dropped passes and out of bounds catches. The officiating was horrible though, I will admit. But it was horrible on both sides.
February 6th, 2006 at 7:29 pm
I’ll take this opportunity to point out that the refs favored Indy, the #1 seed at home yet the Steelers still won. Anymore excuses?
Perhaps next you’ll point out that if the Steelers secondary hadn’t hit so hard Stevens would have held onto the ball in his 50 fucking drops. Or maybe if the rush defense wasn’t so god damn motherfucking GREAT they would’nt have kept Shawn Alexander, the league MVP, out of the end zone and under 100. (They would have had a chance to run if they hadn’t gone to Hasselbeck for 49 passes! while playing catch-up). Maybe Seattle needs opposing quarterbacks to have a passer rating of 0.0 instead of 22.3 to win games.
There’s no justice, is there Ken?
It’s called stepping the fuck up. Learn it Cincy!
February 8th, 2006 at 1:38 pm
And here I thought I hated Marcos. Yeah, basically…. Ben sucked, and the defense performed well, even without our “stars” doing anything big.
BLASPHEMY SAYS KEN! A TEAM MUST HAVE A QUARTERBACK CAPABLE OF THROWING 80 YARDS OR THEY WILL LOSE. WHAT IS THIS DEFENSE NONSENSE?
Right Ken… lets hear it again “If Palmer weren’t hurt…” Hey… how about… “If your offensive line didn’t suck….Palmer would be walking to the fridge for his super-bowl beer instead of waiting for someone else to get it” But…alas, he would still be home.
Hmm, I don’t usually smack talk (whatever you want to call it), but the constant reiteration of the Palmer story made me sink to that level.
February 8th, 2006 at 3:34 pm
I wouldn’t have to keep bringing it up if you guys didn’t keep strutting around like you beat somebody. If our O line sucked then Palmer wouldn’t have been able to put up the numbers he did this season. Hard to stop a guy that stumbles and falls on our QB several seconds after the ball is out of his hands.
February 8th, 2006 at 7:17 pm
what its not like you guys would have gotten to the super bowl any way going through denver then indy or new england you couldn’t beat denver or indy at home and you couldn’t beat new england anywhere
and cincysux what are you talking about carson walking to his fridge to get a beer he can’t walk rolling maybe thanks kimo
February 9th, 2006 at 4:50 pm
I never said we would have made it to the Superbowl, but the Steelers did so I guess anything would be possible. We didn’t play Denver or New England this year. Last year we beat Denver on MNF and lost a very close game to the Patriots in New England, where everyone knows they get all the calls. I think that was the game where Carson got hurt in the second half, but I don’t remember. And this year we lost to Indy in a shootout. The Steelers lost to Indy by a pretty big margin, but beat them in the playoffs. Who’s to say the Bengals couldn’t have done the same? We’ll never know what would have happened. I just know I can’t wait ’til next season, especially when we play the Steelers. It’s gonna be nuts.
February 9th, 2006 at 8:22 pm
Bengals 2020: That comment on thanking Kimo wasn’t cool. No one wants a player’s young career to be jeapordized.
