Backpacking – THE FINISHED BACKPACK DIY

A backpack is, in its simplest form, a cloth sack carried on one\’s back and secured with two straps that go over the shoulders. Backpacks are often preferred to handbags for carrying heavy loads or carrying any sort of equipment, because of the limited capacity to carry heavy weights for long periods of time in the hands. Some backpacks are specifically designed to carry certain items. One common special type of backpack, sometimes referred to as a \”technical pack\” or \”frame pack\”, is designed for backpacking and other outdoor activities. Backpacks form an essential part of the gear of the outdoor trekker and the urban backpacker, allowing more mobility and compactness than would be available to someone carrying most of their gear and clothing in a suitcase. This video shows a DIY Backpack that was made by an experienced backpacker.

travel insurance

We have enjoyed many holidays backpacking both within Australia and overseas. It has allowed us to travel way beyond what we would have, if we had chosen more expensive options. It has been very valuable for us to learn from other’s experience and in particular one of our friends ensured that on our first overseas trip we had cover for medical under our travel insurance policy. We have been forever thankful, after a minor accident in Europe, for which we were fully covered.

Cool gear, especially the backpack! It looks very organized. So you did it all yourself? This is very creative. It shows your creative side and love for backpacking. You showed us that we can cut expenses when backpacking by creating our own backpacks. Thanks!

things to do in Milford Sound

Given the wide range of backpacks on the market these days, and the ever-decreasing prices, I'm not quite sure why anyone would bother to make their own unless they were just having a bit of fun. It looks cool, but can't say I'd make the effort to build one myself!
