Having an itinerary is just a great idea. Without it, you will be so disorganized and may not be able to save time and money. Always do a lot of research beforehand and get familiarized with the destination you are heading to. Be prepared of the hazards or problems along the way of your trip, too.
Backpacking is a great cost effective way to travel and it helps you get up close and personal to nature. The best way to travel!

I hate plans and itineraries. I always fail to follow them. It may even mess up everything so I prefer to just go for it and don't worry about anything. It's better to be spontaneous and do things at the spur of the moment. It's so much fun.
I just purchased some airfare to Hawaii and plan to do a lot of backpacking in both Haleakala and Volcanoes national parks. So I'll be sure to use these tips.

Backpacking is great! I love to carry a backpack and just go where my feet lead me. But I do agree to have a plan and make it good and organized. You always have to plan ahead of time to be more prepared and to avoid anything unwanted and unnecessary.
