I wanted to sail, so I took some classes

I am an adventurous person and like to take risks. I have gone skydiving, parasailing, and cliff diving as well, but I decided that I wanted to try something new. I wanted to try just regular sailing, and I knew that in order to do that I would need to take some sailing courses to learn how. Sailing is different than the other things that I had done because it required skill to do, so I wanted to take some RYA courses to get myself ready to be on the water.

The first thing I knew I needed to do was get in contact with a day skipper at the beach that could me with the sailing courses I would be taking. The day skipper that I talked to was really great in helping me choose some RYA courses that I could take. I researched quite a few sailing courses before I finally signed up for one.

I started taking the RYA courses with the day skipper helping me and was able to get the hang of sailing fairly quickly. I advanced quickly through the different classes I was taking and found that I truly enjoyed the feeling of the sea air flying by me.

Once I had finished all of the classes that I needed to take in order to sail on my own, I decided that I was going to try it out by myself. I’ll never forget it because it was the most thrilling experience of my life.
