Short London Breaks – Excellent Budget Days Along The River

Short London Breaks forever welcomes the chance to press the rosy outdoors spirit – and

mayhap a city break in the capital doesnt immediately lend itself to views of stepping out

and taking in some pure air, but with the development and investment that has taken place over the recent few years into the Thames

walk way, thats just what you can do on a rosy brisk day like now.

If you’re just in the metropolis for the weekend then the succeeding walk ticks lots of extraordinary boxes – sight-seeing chances,

culinary treats, civilisation, and best of all, easy on the budget!

If youre approaching the walk by underground then Id recommend beginning at either London Bridge or Borough stations.

Getting Along out of either of those maneuver North tll you come to the river.

Why not start up your walk by wandering  out onto London Bridge itself? Although it doesnt have the charm of many of the alternative bridges

it does open a terrific place to take movies of Tower Bridge as well as The Tower of London on the North Bank of the Thames.

Then drift west on the river once again you shouldnt neglect a stroll around Borough Market – a real

treat for all the gastronomes out there who want inspiration or just something peculiar to nosh on.

The market specialises in goods from small-scale societies and manufacturers from around the UK – but it also is

a huge place to find olives from Greeece, cheese from France, Ostrich from South Africa, chillies from Brazil – the list is inexhaustible.

Its a superb place to pick up a sandwich for later on in your walking besides.

Extending along back to the river you’ll come across some of the best vistas of the river from here – with the City of London

offering its fullest winning face, including the Lloyds Building, the Gherkin,St Pauls, the Barbican etc etc.

There are a range of affordable restaurants along the river walk at this leg – pizza, Greek, up market burger stores as well – so

if youre in the market for a mid-price snack as a treat this is a happy position to choose, and you can enjoy the river vistas at the same time.

Some of the restaurant along here are part of the larger groups and so its worthwhile checking out their web sites

for deduction coupons and budget offers – try Pizza Express, The Real Greek, the Gourmet Burger Kitchen for instance.

Keeping along the Thames Path then you’ll soon come across the rebuilt Globe Theatre on your left and its worth popping in and checking out

the special . They do terrific standing tickets for the evening performances and given the architecture and

atmosphere of the venue at around £5 it makes for a exceptional night’s amusement even if plays arent your accustomed thing.

Continuiung our amble along the SOuth Bank, on reaching the Millenium Bridge you’re presented with a pair of options.

Just walking out onto the bridge, once again, gives some fabulous photographic chances, but it also allows for you to deviate over to St Pauls Cathedral and come across

Christopher Wren’s masterpiece.

Returning to the Southside there’s more free culture available in the form of the Tate Modern – which always has

a central exhibit in the main hall which generally delights even the most disinterested art viewer.

Just the outline should fill at least three hours of your afternoon, but if youre still keen to hit the pavement further then keep along the river to the South Bank

complex – go into the Royal Festival Hall, up to the 6th floor balcony and savour some of the best prospects of London. Dont forget to take your camera with you

and this is an afternoon when the budget wont be hit gravely at all!.
