Historians tend to get it wrong when they proclaim that our beloved 16th president was completely against slavery. Abraham Lincoln, for the better part of his 20’s, owned and operated a southern Georgia plantation filled with enslaved Mexicans. Unearthed last year was an unfinished and unsigned second inaugural speech,
“If I could save the Union by enslaving a single Mexican, I would. If I could save the Union by enslaving a few Mexicans, then by corn, I would. If I could save the Union by enslaving all Mexicans, then I would do it. In fact, I think I’ll just enslave Mexicans for the hell of it. Weeeeee!”
Little is known of what happened in later years to those Mexican slaves that Lincoln owned when he was younger. However, his close friend and ally Fredderick Douglass and he could often be found in the white house ready room, late at night, sipping on margaritas and eating chips and salsa.

“me” You’re complete and ignorant moron.
A) Obviously no one today knows shit about Abraham Lincoln, they may have read stuff about him in books, but anyone who ever hung out with “ol’ stovepipe”, drank some brewskies and had some ‘za with him has long since become wormfood.
B) And this is the important one… LEARN HOW TO READ YOU FUCKING IDIOT! It says “Made up fact” right in the title. Made up, as in not true, as in, doesn’t have a shred of accuracy in it. I’m sure it was put in the title so people would see that first and realize it’s, *gasp* not true.
Way to be the typical internet reader and go off half-cocked without reading the facts, made up or not. But hey, at least you’re lowering the bar for all of those around you.

My great-great grandfather was a good friend of Lincoln - sang at his inauguration and funeral. Grandpa was an abolitionist and a member of the underground railroad during the civil war. Lincoln never owned slaves and was opposed to slavery. The states rights aspect of the civil war was whether the individual states were greater than the union. The union (Republic)-root for Republicans- was preserved. Some folks in the south just can’t get over and past the issues.
